LEAGUE MODE STANDING SHEET HI-SCORES On selection you will be asked if you want only ‘awards eligible’
scores listed. That is, only scores which qualify on the basis of minimum number of
games or %age of possible games bowled. This is based on you settings in the rules. If you have a file made before this facility was introduced then you need to go to CHANGE RULES via SYSTEM OPTIONS and set up your required criteria. The system default is 66% of possible games. If you select NO to this option then all scores are listed. This question will not be asked if you have set a minimum number of games and the number of possible games is below this figure, i.e. in the early stages of the league.
New rule added “GAMES IN HIGH SERIES” This is for the benefit of those running 4 match (team) or 5 and 6 match (singles) leagues who wish to show high scores as the games in the match. Default setting is 3 (even if there’s only 2 games in the match). This setting obviously will not accept a figure more than the games in a match. If you have a 4 match league and set this figure to 4 then BOWLER and TEAM Records, Listings and Standing Sheet will all show high series as 4 games. If you have more than three games in a match and have set this figure higher than 3 you can still get normal 3-game series listings by going to SYSTEM OPTIONS, CHANGE RULES and change the setting to 3.. All high scores are automatically corrected. Changing again puts it back the way it was. |

TOURNAMENT MODE The events in Standard and Combination formats can now be bowled in separate sets if the number of games in the event is 6 or 9. On set up this separate sets option is available for all sections. This allows sets to be bowled at different times and even at different venues. If you wish to add a new bowler after the first set has bowled then you must go to CHANGE A TEAM and register the bowler – he will then appear on the screen when entering the scores for subsequent sets. In the case of a COMBINATION tournament you must first select COMBINATION, CHANGE A TEAM and register the bowler for the Combination team (You can have up to 17). Then go to the event , select CHANGE A TEAM, and register the bowler. Note: If you wish to change scores after set 1 has been bowled then MATCH CHANGE will only show set 1 on the screen. After set 2 has been bowled MATCH CHANGE will show all 6 games which can then be amended. After set 3 it will show 9. The option ADD GAMES is not available if the current event or current round has separate sets. You will be advised to use MATCH CHANGE instead. When squadding set entries will be offered up in sequence – you cannot put separate sets for the same entry in the same squad. To squad all entries use BLOCK SQUADDING. To remove from a squad use LIST A SQUAD. COMBINATION
When registering a new bowler for an event in a COMBINATION tournament the system will only offer up those bowlers who are registered for the Combination team. When entering your Combination teams you can nominate whether in Scratch or not. When the system then sets up the relevant teams automatically it will carry that scratch setting over. If you then find that the scratch settings for some event entries are not correct you can easily amend them by selecting the event and using BLOCK SCRATCH. BLIND
SCORES
The option ADDABLIND has been removed from the scores screen. To add a blind use the sequence outlined above just as if it is a normal player. However you would click on REGISTER A BLIND and not REGISTER BOWLERS. FEMALE
BOWLING AS MALE
If you have a tournament with separate male and female sections you can have a situation where you wish a female to bowl in the male section and be counted as male for the purposes of high scores etc.. To achieve this a new title option is added MsX. If you set the title to this the sex will show on listings as X and the bowler will be counted as male for high scores and All-Events purposes. ALL-EVENTSWhen selecting bowlers for entry in the ALL-EVENTS the listing will only offer up those bowlers who can legally be entered in the event. i.e. They are not already entered. They are entered in an event in the tournament. If there is a SINGLES event in the tournament they are entered in it. They qualify for the section selected, either regular, ladies or junior. If in SINGLES they are in the same section. ENTERING SCORES – A REMINDER!When entering scores , if the number entered is 3 digits then the cursor automatically moves to the next position after entry of the third digit – there is no need to press C/R. If the number entered is less than 3 digits, i.e. a game of 99, then press ENTER and the cursor will move on. No need to put leading zeroes! ROUNDS FORMATRounds format consists of Main Entries and Sub-Entries. When you first enter the teams the system sets up the Main entry and the Sub-Entry for the first round. When you select NEXT ROUND the system sorts out the qualifiers for the next round and then sets up the relevant sub-entries. So normally, until a round has been completed , there aren’t any valid entries known for the following round and therefore you cannot squad that round or get scorecards. However, if Round 2 and following rounds are set as number of teams 255(ALL), then on first entry of the team the system will set up the required sub-entries for all the rounds which are so set. This will enable other rounds to be squadded before the completion of the preceding one. Note that BLOCK SQUADDING will only offer up for selection one round at a time. I.e. until a Round1 entry has either been squadded or has bowled then its Round 2 entry will not be offered. Because, logically, you would not have an entry bowling 2 rounds in the same squad! RESERVE ENTRIESIf you are entering scores for a round other than Round1 and the entry for which you wish to enter the scores did not qualify for that round then selecting “Select from a list.” will not show it. To enter those scores type in the bowler’s number. You will be asked, “IS THIS A RESERVE ENTRY FOR THIS ROUND?” Answer YES and you can enter the scores. Note that the system will only accept the valid number of scores for that round. You would need to put in a reserve entry if all the entries for that round were not available to bowl. You cannot move on to the next round until the requisite number of scores has been entered. However! Suppose you are entries short for that round and have no reserve entries. The alternative! Select ENTER SCORES and select from a list. Do not enter any scores, CONFIRM. You will be asked if you wish this entry to be flagged as bowled. Answer YES and it will increment the scores entered for that round and allow you to move on. Note this does not apply to round 1. Round 1 entries not prepared to bowl can be deleted normally. SENIOR
ROUNDS TOURNAMENTS. This format uses age pins and does not have a scratch option. However, a scratch listing is often required. When setting up a Rounds tournament with a scratch option the last scratch round can be set. i.e. Usually the last round in which all entrants bowl – so that all scratch entries have an equal chance. The rule setting reads: “SCRATCH SECTION ENDS AFTER ROUND “. When setting up a Senior tournament this setting is now available but reads “SCRATCH LISTING ENDS AFTER ROUND “. There is no need to enter bowlers in the scratch section – as there isn’t one! However, on selection of List Results you have the same choices as a tournament with scratch option with slightly different wording. Normally the choices are: FINAL ROUND PRE-FINAL ROUNDS HANDICAP SECTION SCRATCH SECTION CURRENT DIVISION SCRATCH SECTION BOTH DIVISIONS For a Senior tournament the choices are: FINAL ROUND PRE-FINAL ROUNDS HANDICAP SECTION SCRATCH LISTING CURRENT DIVISION SCRATCH LISTING BOTH DIVISIONS ROUNDS FORMAT – FINALSNew facility added - as per screen print.
CHANGES/CORRECTIONSOld Style. The scores screen normally displayed all the bowlers
registered for the team (or the first 8). Once scores had been entered
any subsequent screens connected to that score only displayed those who
had bowled.
i.e. 2nd set only showed those who bowled in 1st set. Match Change only showed those who had bowled. New Style. The scores screen for any set shows all the bowlers registered for the team whether bowled or not. Match Change shows all the bowlers registered. This means that, provided a bowler is registered for the team, you can put different bowlers in different sets. You can also change bowler during a set. I.e. A bowler drops out after game 2 and another bowler bowls game 3. You can also switch bowling lineup during the match. I.e. Captain pulling one man out and substituting another. With Match Change displaying all the bowlers registered it means that you can correct an entry where scores have been entered against the wrong player. Example: Scores are entered then you discover that the wrong name was on the scoresheet. Ensure the correct bowler is registered, go to Match Change and delete the incorrect scores and enter them against the correct bowler. You can also use this in the case where one bowler bowls some of the games and another the rest. Note
that in a Rounds tournament you must do this before Next Round as Match
Change only operates on the current round. Note also that it doesn’t matter if the new bowler wasn’t registered for the team when the match was bowled. Just register and he will be available for corrections. Additional special formats added. Facility to nominate if 2nd and/or 3rd 3 games of a 6 or 9 game set can be counted as a separate series for hi-score purposes. Improved scoresheets with larger boxes for scores. BLOCK SCRATCH option added - correct entries all on one screen. BLOCK RE-ENTRY facility added. PLUS loads more shortcuts, user-friendly procedures and new tournament formats including TRIPLE CROWN and MULTI-EVENT ROUNDS.
