UPGRADE INFORMATION - OCTOBER 2009

(Users with versions earlier than V3.71 return your installation CD (not the case) for a free upgrade.)

ALL MODULES

An additional number field has been added. This Special number field can be used for YBC, YAC, JTE numbers etc.The number can be up to 7 characters long. This number is carried over from the database to both league and tournament modules when using READ IN data.

 The screen header for this number is set up when setting up the file and can be any 3 characters you like. The default is YBC.

 This header can be changed at any time via SYSTEM OPTIONS and Passwords/Names.

The header is corrected on all screens including REGISTRATION.

 DATABASE

The Car Registration field has been discarded as feedback found it wasn’t being used.

It has been replaced with “Licence” which can be used as a number for practically anything such as BTBA Coach or Instructor licence numbers.

 Underneath  this field are boxes for entering day, month, year (- 2000) of an expiry date.

TOURNAMENT MODE

REGISTRATION DETAILS SCREEN

This screen is a form of spreadsheet, updated automatically from the bowler’s details when you select it.

The TOTALS boxes at the top are changed automatically as you confirm data entry in a cell by pressing the ENTER key or by changing cell with the mouse.

The first three columns, number, name and handicap, cannot be changed. If you click on them the cursor moves to the first legal column, i.e. column 4.

The handicap column is changed by changing the entering average. Pressing ENTER after typing the entering average will activate a calculator which changes column 3 in accordance with your rule settings.

In the case of a Senior tournament “Entering Average” becomes “Age” and handicap becomes “Age Pins”

This is actually a better way to change a  lot of handicaps all at once rather than go to each individual bowler’s entry screen.

Entering average can be set zero.

Column 5 is the BTBA number. Again, this is a quick way to change a lot of  bowler details.

Columns 6 and 7 are for noting valid membership cards. These columns will only accept one character, Y or N.

Case immaterial – the system corrects to upper case.

Columns 8, 9 and 10 are for accounting purposes.

There is no need to type in the pound sign or even format the cash amount.

2  (ENTER) will automatically format to £ 2.00 as the cursor leaves the cell.

2.00 (ENTER) will automatically format to £ 2.00 as the cursor leaves the cell.

 1.5 (ENTER) will automatically format to £ 1.50 as the cursor leaves the cell.

To view the complete entry for a bowler double click on a name.

The button C/R SWITCH will toggle the response to the ENTER key.

You can set it to ‘move right’  or to ‘move down’.

‘Move Down’ is useful in editing a column.  i.e. doing handicaps or entering BTBA numbers.

The ‘CLOSE’ button will write all the data  and exit the screen.

The  ‘CANCEL’ button does just that. Click on this and you will be warned that all changes will be cancelled and you are asked if you really mean it.

BTBA NUMBER

BTBA Number field added to bowler personal screen.

BTBA Number carried over from Database to Tournament file on "READ IN"

When Listing Entries (i.e. for averages, performances etc) option to use the BTBA number instead of the system number.

If no BTBA number present column is left blank to be edited in later from the saved WORD file.

ROUNDS FORMAT – FINALS

New facility added  - as per screen print.

Additional special formats added.

Facility to nominate if 2nd  and/or 3rd 3 games of a 6 or 9 game set can be counted as a separate series for hi-score purposes.

Improved scoresheets with larger boxes for scores.

BLOCK SCRATCH option added - correct entries all on one screen.

BLOCK RE-ENTRY facility added.

PLUS loads more shortcuts, user-friendly procedures and new tournament formats including TRIPLE CROWN and MULTI-EVENT ROUNDS.
